AN EVER EVOLVING EXHIBITION SPANNING THREE CONTINENTS

WEB TO VERSE

  • Ever-evolving exhibition and event series worldwide, spanning three continents
  • Bridges an arch from computer art of the 1950s to blockchain technologies of the 2020s including current developments
  • Showcases and makes visible the way advanced technologies expand the boundaries of contemporary art, and vice versa
  • There are four focused areas to explore the curatorial narrative, with work selected from a pool of 100+ artists
  • Highlights how new technologies and digital arts redesign UX-user experience of art, and in particular how creative inclusion and community building embody the value of diversity in art and society

Thematic areas: The impact of technology has important social and political implications today. Technology has changed the work of artists and, at the same time, artists engaging technology are changing our society

1) A Glance to the Past: This section gives a quick historical contextualisation to show the roots of the relationship betweenn art and technology to the audience. From the birth of the Mathematical Patterns to Computer Art, it shows the beginning of a digital era from fractals and early information aesthetics adopted by artistsA Glance to the Past: This section gives a quick historical contextualisation to show the roots of the relationship between art and technology to the audience. 2) The Age of Internet. Web art is no longer determined solely by its existence on the Internet. Rather, contemporary artists are making art about informational culture using various means both online and offline. This area aims to demonstrate the artistic use of the internet in our contemporary world

3) Art and Tecno-Politics. A new idea of activism has emerged through the work of artists working with technology. Working in order to foster conversations beyond the art world, the artists in this section engage in a wide societal range of issues

4) From NFT to Metaverse: The successful adoption of blockchain technology by contemporary practitioners, which has seen peer validation and community-building as foundation blocks for a new concept of contemporary art that disrupts art’s ‘legacy system’ i.e. the museum, the critic, the curator, the gallerist, in order to expand both culture and technology
